Production Process
GREEN FABRIC FACTORY.
Our fabric manufacturer
was awarded a certificate of achievement as the most environmentally
friendly medium sized factory in Taiwan. Eco friendly systems include:
onsite wind and solar power; rain water and grey water storage for
reuse/recycling; recycling program throughout factory for paper, bottles
and food waste; organic garden.
LOW CHEMICAL USAGE.
We have convinced our partners
to stop using bleach or any other chemicals traditionally used to
produce performance fabrics. As an example, we have opted to not use
bleach and instead work with the natural colours of our materials
and their natural ability to absorb dyes.
CARBON OFFSETS.
Any items that we cannot control,
such as shipping emissions, we have purchased carbon credits from CarbonFund.org. Credits are
traded on the CME and supports environmental efforts around the world. |

Materials and Packaging
PACKAGING.
When our products are shipped from our
manufacturers to our warehouse, the clothing needs to be packaged
into plastic bags to prevent moisture and dirt damage. We have partnered
with a reputable company to supply us with degradable plastic bags.
Degradant catalyst in the plastics will lead to total degradation
of the plastic into its original elements (at the molecular level).
LABELS.
All our hang tags are made from 100% recycled
materials. We are also replacing woven labels with heat-sealed/silk
screened labels. Not only does this make it more comfortable for the
wearer, but energy and waste is saved from making the woven tags.
FABRIC MATERIALS.
Instead of using chemicals to
provide fabric functionality, we have utilized bamboo, a highly renewable
resource. We have also replaced at least 46% of our fabric with polyester
made from recycled sources such as pop bottles. Read
